Monoprinting creates one-of-a-kind images and patterns by using a flat smooth surface on which to apply paint. We’ll use Plexiglas and/or gelatin/glycerin plates and resists, such as leaves, to create successively changing images on fabric. Along with using a Plexiglas plate, students may also elect to do gelatin plate printing by making their own gelatin/glycerin plates ahead of time and also print with paper as well as fabric (recipe will be included in materials list). Many techniques will be covered.
